Tatum Brooke Stambaugh was born on March 12, 2008, in Longview, Texas. From the very beginning, Tatum came into this world with a spark. She was independent, fearless, and wise beyond her years. A beautiful mix of girly girl and tomboy, Tatum could rock a pair of muddy boots just as effortlessly as she could curl her hair and paint her nails.
She was a firecracker — full of energy, laughter, and fierce loyalty. Growing up, she was never one to back down from a challenge. Whether it was roughhousing with her siblings, riding four-wheelers through the mud, or standing up for the people she loved, Tatum met every moment head-on. Protective and nurturing, she had a heart that knew no bounds and a spirit that shone brightly.
Tatum was preceded in death by her stepfather, Sammy Alexander, and her grandfather, Jason Vaughan.
She is survived by her mother, Robin Alexander; her father and bonus mom, Colby and Kortne Stambaugh; her siblings, Andon Stambaugh, River Alexander, Karter Stambaugh, and Sailor Craig; grandparents, Kelli and Rusty Russell, Tammy Vaughan, Chawn Stambaugh, Tonya Craig, and Shirley Loy; and great-grandmothers, Nita Stambaugh and Donna Russell. Her memory will also be cherished by her aunts and uncles, Whitney McFarland and husband Jordan, Justin Stambaugh, Raegan Johnson and husband Ricky, Hayden Stambaugh, and Chyanne Fulks and husband Jake. She shared an unbreakable bond with her best friend and “sister at heart,” Rylee Rumbo. Tatum’s circle of love extended to countless cousins and friends who adored her, just as she adored them.
Though her time here was far too short, Tatum’s vibrant spirit and endless love will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her. Her laughter, her strength, and the countless memories she created will remain cherished forever.
