Melvin C. Edmond

December 28, 1944 ~ August 1, 2017
On December 28, 1944, a handsome baby boy named Melvin Charles Edmond was born. His biological mother was Connie Spraglin Edwards; however, his aunt, Shelly Spraglin raised him.
Melvin was baptized into Shady Grove Baptist Church at a very early age. Melvin was a professional truck driver and excelled to the highest level. He continued to drive until his health failed. Both sons followed him into the profession after he retired in 2004.
Melvin and Rita Lewis married in 1976 and to this union Ashley, Ronald, and Keith were born.
Preceding him death was his mother, Connie Spraglin Edwards; father, Earnest Edmond; son, Ashley Lewis.
Melvin was called home to glory on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Rita Edmond; sons: Ronald Lewis and Keith (Oslyn) Lewis; grandchildren: Bradford Lewis, Ashley Lewis, Ryan Lewis, and Haley Lewis; three brothers: Danny Edmond, Norris Edmond, and Patrick Edmond; and a host of special and dear family.
