I have been out of town for a week and just found the notice of Linda’s death. I am so shocked to see this and I am so dreadfully sorry I was not here when the word came. Linda was a most enjoyable person and a good friend to most everybody. She was unknown to me when I was performing in my Living Room Theatre and around but made the effort to stop by and talk one day convincing me to help getting a group started to dig up more of the history of Caddo Lake and environs. We started the Caddo Lake Historical Research Committee and began the interesting work of recording the history still known by some who were alive in 1980s. It was a great sucess and a joy to do the work that we both loved and Linda was a major help in getting others interested in working with us. As time went on, we both backed out of the group but it still continues to a degree. We were
asked to present the story of how we got started to the current group last year and afterwards Linda and I went
to the lakeside and enjoyed a fish dinner while we caught up on a lot of things. I think Linda had a helping nature and was quite capable of doing whatever was necessary to do just that. She will certainly be missed by all of us who worked with her either in research or with the Krewe of Hebe, or many other pursuits. May she now rest in peace forever.
