RIP Uncle Bud. We love you and will miss you greatly
What a joyful day it was when Mr. Pomeroy entered heaven to be greeted by all his loved ones who were waiting on him. Mike and Susie among the first. Mr. Pomeroy would literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was the most unselfish person I have ever known. Me and practically my whole family has worked for him at Old Dad’s. He was by far the best boss I ever had. I will forever remember his voice resonating out over the loud speaker announcing the football games and how proud I was to hear him say "Big John Haley makes that tackle!" It was so much fun. You will be terribly missed Mr. James, we all love you! Give Big John Haley a hug for me cause I know he will be one of the first to greet you as well. See ya on the other side, my friend. Joanna
You will always be my dad
To the pomeroy family I’m so sorry for your loss

I am saddened to hear of James’ passing. He was a wonderful man that was loved by many. Prayers for Brenda and the family.
Mr. P (Lion James) was such a joy and I’m grateful to have become his friend through Lions Club. He really took me under his wing and taught me the ropes. I will be forever honored that he handed his Lion reins over to me, and I hope to continue in his footsteps. What a kind, gentle man. He sure loved this community and he will be missed by many.
My condolences to the family. If I recall correctly my late cousin Jon G Marples (died 2013) formerly of Diana TX and I ….stopped-in at "Old dad’s" in Ore City and met Mr. Pomeroy…a very courteous gentleman. He will be missed. Respectfully, James Marples
Lots of good childhood memories. You will be missed.
Kind hearted man that was always caring for others.
Mr. James was a good man. He loved his family and friends. He would help anyone. I remember many times that someone would come into Old Dads with no money and hungry and he would feed them. Many days he let me study for test or do homework while on the clock at work. He encouraged us to do our best and to better ourselves. He employed our kids and gave them advice while he tried to instill good work values in them. He was like a dad to all of us that worked at Old Dads. We were like family. He kept Old Dads open just to make sure we had jobs, even though he was taking a loss. Thank you Mr. James, We will miss you, but heaven has a special place for you and Willis is surely waiting with coffee in hand along with all your loved ones that has gone ahead of you. Ms. Brenda our thoughts and prayers our with you and your family.
