Baby Jean Crockett

Baby Jean Crockett was born May 20, 1929 in Upshur County, TX to the late Hulene Davis and Ellis Stevens and she passed away April 20, 2016 at her home in Ore City. She joined Sunview Church at an early age and later joined with Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. Bay Jean was aa active member of the Eastern Star.

She graduated from Ore City High School. She worked many years before retiring from Thiokol in Karnack, TX. She married the late Harry B. Crockett in 1959, and to this union seven children were born.

She is preceded in death by her baby girl Geraline Pookie Crockett; and parents.

Baby Jean is survived by her three sons, Harry (Delia) Crockett of Ore City, Willie C. (Phyllis) Crockett of Dallas, and A.C. Crockett of Ore City; three daughters: Maylene (Joe Sr.) Hurd of Woodlawn, Eva (Cary) Mathis of Ore City, and Erma Crockett of Ore City; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.

She loved her many nieces, nephews, family, and her special friend, Frances Morrow

Services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. Paul Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. Ms. Crockett will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
