Gerald Wayne Furlow, Jr. was born August 6, 1964 in Linden, Texas to Gerald and Ann Furlow of Hughes Springs. He passed away December 3, 2022. Gerald served his country in the United States Army. He was baptized at Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church and he loved the Lord. He had a kind heart and was always laughing and joking. He loved to make people laugh. He had a strong love for his family and friends and he loved music.

Gerald was preceded in death by his grandparents: Charles Olen and Vera Mitchell; James Kenneth and Jackie Nadine Furlow.

He is survived by his parents, Gerald, Sr. and Ann Furlow; brothers, Roy James Furlow, Vincent Furlow and wife Stephanie; nieces and nephews, Michael James Furlow and wife Stephanie, Kristen Velazquez and husband Jose, Austin Flores and wife Ari, Ryan Furlow, and Scotty Furlow; great-nieces and nephews, Carson Furlow, Keelee Furlow, Kye Furlow, Kyra Furlow, Korbin Velazquez, Lexi Smoak, Avery Flores andΒ  Ava Flores; and a host extended family and special friends.

Services for Mr. Furlow will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2022 at Reeder-Davis Chapel with Pastor David Bond officiating. Burial will follow at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

  4. Gerald (Slim) Furlow, was a close friend of my family. He almost never hesitated to help me out with whatever I needed at the time. I know that you will be missed brother.

    Many good times we had when you hung out with Neal! You were the laughter of all! We all went our own way. Some good some bad. None of us were or are perfect. I will always cherish the memories.
