Donald Gene Beene Sr. was born on March 2nd 1948, to the union of Billy Don and Pauline Beene in Roscoe, Texas. Donald married his wife Rita Waxler on August 11th 1969 in Marshall, Texas. They then moved to Ore City, Texas in the year of 1976, where they settled and raised their three children; Rita, Debra, and Donald Beene. Donald was a fun-loving man. Some of his passions and hobbies were participating in Rodeos where he rode bulls and horses, as well as training horses. He also loved putting together model cars, boxing, fishing, and hunting. He was also a mechanic and enjoyed working on cars and Drag Racing. He also built golf courses, some of which are still being used to this day. He loved to make people laugh with his wild stories and his Donald Duck impressions. Donald was also a truck driver and spent most of his days on the road, many times accompanied by his wife and children, where they enjoyed the many beautiful sights, the country had to offer. Donald met his wife Rita at a diner in which he swore was love at first sight. They were both involved in other relationships at the time, but the love he felt when he first laid eyes upon her could not be denied. He knew what he needed to do and after time he finally worked up the courage to ask her out. He asked three times for her hand in marriage. It wasn’t until he first asked and received her father’s permission that she finally accepted his proposal. Donald and Rita were wed by the Justice of The Peace at the courthouse in Marshall, Texas. They were married for 54 wonderful years and were the love of each other’s lives. Donald was a family man. He loved his wife dearly and the family they built together. Enjoying every moment spent with them, creating so many loving and fun memories with each and every single one that will always be kept deep in our hearts. He will be missed dearly, but never forgotten, and remembered with love. Donald Gene Beene Sr. departed this life on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023. He departed in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Don and Pauline Beene, and his sister Diana Allison.
